In Support of Save A Child’s Heart
Thousands of children around the world are suffering from heart disease and require assistance. Save a Child’s Heart is a hospital-based project offering all its varied services in cooperation with the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon, Israel.
The fully-equipped 10-bed Paediatric Intensive Care Unit works around the clock to provide severely ill children with excellent treatment in a warm and caring environment. Out of 550 children treated there every year, 50% are Save a Child’s Heart patients. The children come from 50 countries around the globe where adequate medical care is simply unavailable. The approximately 70 doctors, nurses and therapists who treat them are volunteers.
Save a Child’s Heart is currently focusing on constructing and equipping a new Children’s Hospital that will house the Middle East’s first International Paediatric Cardiac Centre. This hospital will not only enable SACH to treat more children from developing countries, will also serve 10% of Israel’s children.
Save a Child’s Heart is very dear to our honoree and his wife, Judy, who is Chair of the West Coast SACH Foundation. They both serve on the US national boards of SACH. Funds raised at this event will go towards the building or equipping of the new hospital.
