Emergency Campaign: Canada Park
Help Us Rehabilitate Canada Park After Devastating Fires

In 1972, Bernard Bloomfield, then President of JNF Canada, spearheaded a campaign among the Canadian community to raise $15 million to establish a park in the centre of Israel, to be named Canada Park. The project was completed in 1984 and has been serving Israelis of all backgrounds by providing a lush green space, hiking and biking trails, picnic areas, beautiful forests and more. A section of the forest was planted to commemorate the Americans and Canadians who died in Israel's wars or were victims of terror. Over 300,000 tourists and residents visit the park annually at no cost. It is a jewel in the crown of the Israeli park system.

Massive wildfires continue to rage through central Israel and the Jerusalem Hills, triggering the highest emergency alert - “Red Torch.” Entire communities have been affected, and Israel has declared a national state of emergency as the fires rage dangerously close to populated areas. Firefighting crews from across the country, joined by aerial units and reinforcements, are working tirelessly to contain the blazes.

The destruction of forests and Canada Park is devastating. However, we must not sit by idly and lament what was destroyed. We have no choice but to take action. JNF Canada called upon Canadian Jewry and our friends in the 1970s to realize this dream, and today we are calling upon the next generation to do its part.
We have immediate needs and longer-term needs. First, once the fire is completely extinguished, the parks and forests need to be cleaned and cleared of all debris to ensure that it is safe (phase 1). The foresters need to access the park in order to complete an assessment and determine phase 2 of a revitalization plan.
Thanks to generous friends of JNF we have raised $100,000 in less than one day. DONATE NOW to help us raise the funds needed to bring this forest back to life.
