More information on Dr. Senesh:
Dr. Senesh is a clinical psychologist and senior psychotherapist in private practice in Tel Aviv, Israel since 1995. A graduate of the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada (1988) and an APA postdoctoral internship in Akron, Ohio, USA (1989). He returned in 1990 to practice psychotherapy and teach in Israel, at various academic settings, such as graduate studies for teachers, music therapists and animal assisted therapists (Levinsky-Wingate Academic College in Tel Aviv), clinical criminologists (Bar Ilan University in Ramat-Gan) and served two terms (2013, 2018) as a visiting adjunct professor at the Jewish Theological Seminaries in a graduate program for Rabbinical students and pastoral counselors (JTS, NYC, USA).
Research interests in Discourse Analysis, PTSD and transgenerational transfer of trauma, and moral injuries. Dr. Senesh conducted two research projects on Child Abuse and Restorative Practices among the west coast First Nations in Canada. A former board member of ELI (an association for the protection of children in Israel), and currently a member of the forensic group for the documentation and assessment of torture according to Istanbul Protocol for the Public Committee against Torture in Israel (PCATI). Presently serving on the Board of Directors of Be-Nafshenu (AMCHA), the national Israeli center for Psychosocial support of Survivors of the Holocaust and the Second Generation. He is currently a member of a professional group run by AMCHA-Berlin of Israeli, Jewish and German specialists in transgenerational trauma.
Dr. Senesh is currently in private practice in Jaffa and online from Berlin, Germany, and from various locations in North America. At times he gives webinars, podcasts and lectures on his family and personal experiences as the nephew of the late Hannah Senesh (Szenes) and as a former prisoner of war (Egypt, 1973). Married to the author Ilana Weiser-Senesh, a published writer, playwright and screenwriter who conducts online creative writing workshops (see: ilanasenesh.com). His children live in Berlin and in New York.
