JNF Ottawa launched the Families initiative in August 2021 with the inaugural Pre-Shabbat Picnic in the Park. This sold-out event brought families together for a fun evening of backyard games, music, and delicious food. It was a wonderful way to wrap up the summer and kick off this new initiative.
Following the launch, the team in Ottawa has been busy working on community partnerships to help bring JNF Families to the mainstream. Partnering with PJ Library and the Soloway Jewish Community Centre, we held a very successful Yom Ha’atzmaut event celebrating all things Israel, including Israeli dancing, “touring” around the country and participating in different activities, earning stamps on their passport which they then redeemed for treats at our shuk. It was a wonderful event, and we are already looking forward to more opportunities to collaborate!
